The 2009 Nissan Pathfinder comes in the unchanged car of its predecessor model. It is offered in the midsize 7-passenger SUV vehicle and is offered in SE, S, Off-Road SE and in the luxury LE trim models. All the cars are offered with the 4.0 liter V6 engine that produces 266 horse power of energy. The Nissan Pathfinder is also offered with the 5.6 liter V8 engine.

All the vehicles are offered in five speed automatic transmission and have the towing capacity of 6000 lb with the V6 engine and 7000 lb with the V8 engine. The LE V8 model and the SE Off-Road models come in only four wheel drive, while the other models offers either the four wheel drive or the all wheel drive.
The safety features in the vehicle include traction control, front side air bags, ABS, curtain side air bags that cover all the seat rows and the antiskid system. The third row in the car can be folded by splitting 50/50. The standard feature in the LE model is the leather upholstery while provided as optional in the SE trim. The SE Off-Road model is offered with the shock absorbers, additional chassis skid plates and specific tires. The navigation system in the car is provided as optional in the LE model.
The 2009 Nissan pathfinder in the crash tests conducted by the NHTSA rated the driver protection with the four stars and the same rating for the passenger protection at the front side.
