The 2009 base S model is powered by a standard 4.0 liter V6 engine, but according to the consumer reports Nissan Pathfinder provides V8 engine as optional. The engine in the car can achieve fuel economy of 19 miles per gallon in the city premises, while it can achieve 26 miles per gallon on the highway roads. The engine in the SUV is mated to five-speed automatic transmission with overdrive.
The luxury LE model is powered by a 5.6 liter V8 engine that can deliver power up to 310 hp and this engine is also paired to 5-speed automatic transmission. Consumer reports Nissan pathfinder states that the SUV is one of the top selling cars in its class.
