This sturdy yet elegant vehicle debuted as a two door sport utility vehicle and became a 4-door mid-sized SUV at present. Though gas mileage is not a big advantage to this model, there are certain highs and lows. The latest 6-cylinder 2WD models can deliver gas mileage of 20 miles per gallon on the highway roads.
Engine
The engine used in the present generation model is 4.0 liter DOHC V6 engine, which produces power up to 266 hp at an angular speed of 5600 rpm and torque of 288 lb ft at an angular speed of 4000 rotations per minute. The 2.5 liter I4 engine used in the European version produces fuel economy of 19.6 miles per British gallon in the city streets, while it produces 27.6 miles per British gallon on the highway roads. Though the gas mileage is not so high in comparison to the other SUV vehicles, it offers more safety and standard features.
Apart from better gas mileage, it also offers all the amenities needed for a SUV. The vehicle is being offered in three different trim levels, namely base model S, sporty SE and luxury LE models. The fuel economy by the base model is 15 miles per gallon in the city streets and 22 miles per gallon on the highway roads.
